- Alfredo Volpi - A famous painter of the artistic and cultural Brazilian modernest movement. He was an abstract painter and switched from oil paint to tempera. One of his most famous paintings is Fachada.
- Francisco Rebolo - His full name is Francisco Rebolo Gonsalas. He was a Brazilian painter and is one of the most important landscape painters of Brazilian art. Earth's Fury is one of his most famous paintings.
- All Souls' Day - It is celebrated on November 2nd annually, unless November 2nd falls on a Sunday, then it is on November 3rd. All Souls' Day is also known as the Commemoration of All Faithfully Departed. Candles in the window would guide the souls back home. Children would go through the village asking for food to be offered to the dead, then donated to feed the hungry.
